Fischer Panda continues the successful development of the Diesel electric drives Under the slogan "cable instead of propeller". During the first test tour in 2004, the Bavaria 49 DE accomplished over 1,200 SM in the western and eastern Baltic Sea as well as the Baltic states and Sweden.
The 2005 tour will allow distributors and representatives in the region the opportunity to experience and learn the benefits of Fischer Panda Diesel electric propulsion technology from the practical side. By invitation, Fischer Panda will also allow certain shipyards, marine architects and certain potencial customers the possibility of testing.
The BAVARIA 49 passed the first tour tails without any difficulties, whereby the drive of the BAVARIA 49 DE is appropriate for approx. 30 KW with a total weight by approx. 16 t "only". The ship can easily reach speeds of 8.1 knots in all weather conditions and even with very strong headwind (strength 8, 45 knots), fulfill its requirements.

The tour begins from Elburg in Ijsselmeer, through the Dutch canals, Antwerp, the North Sea and into the English channel. The trials will continue along the South English coast, the Canary Islands, Biscay, the Spanisch coast, Portugal, Gibralter and ending in Mallorca. The Bavaria 49 will be based in Mallorca during the Autumn and Winter of 2005 for parties interested in practical demostrations and trials.
The Diesel electric drive will have accomplished 4.500 SM of trials on arrivial in Mallorca.
